On October 9, 2025, The Freight launched a benefit concert unlike any we’ve hosted before—and the community showed up with open hearts, generous spirits, and an energy that filled every corner of our venue. The incredible generosity throughout the evening—through the auction and fund-a-need—was nothing short of remarkable.

Together, we raised $200,000 to support our mission of celebrating music with deep roots from around the world. This is a testament to your belief in what we do: connecting communities, inspiring creativity, and ensuring that music and culture will thrive for generations to come.

Angélique Kidjo was magnificent. Badi Assad was brilliant. Shirley Kazuyo Muramoto was inspiring. Yet our guests were gathered in support of something that transcended any one performance. That’s the spirit of The Freight, and we embodied it beautifully.
